Citizen Corps Volunteer Group
Henderson, Nevada Police Department

The Citizen Corps will focus on developing a Volunteer in Police Service group working with the City of Henderson Police Department.

The Volunteers will fill gaps in the Police Department in program support, administration and other roles within the Department thus freeing up the Police Officers to respond to calls for service, to have more time for enforcement and other policing priorities. Members of the Citizen Corps will create valuable ties between law enforcement and the citizens of the City of Henderson.

The Citizen Corps will be staffed initially with former law enforcement professionals who have the background in and an understanding of law enforcement and can be utilized efficiently in the Department with little training required. Applications will be accepted from citizens in the community that have graduated from the Henderson Police Department Citizens Academy.

Volunteers will be under the direct supervision of the City of Henderson Police department. All activities undertaken by the volunteers will require prior approval from the Police Department. The volunteers will conform to the standards set by the Henderson Police Department in doing volunteer work in the community.
